Cleanse, tone and prep your skin with Alpine goodness.
Even the most laidback of us understand the importance of a good cleanser. Whether it is prepping our skin for the challenges of a new day, or washing away the day’s fatigue with a thorough cleanse, we all have our preferences and needs.
To build this important first step in your skincare routine, Clarins introduces two new cleansers and reformulates eight of its cleansers and toning lotions with Alpine herbs harvested from its private farm and open-air laboratory Domaine Clarins. These organic ingredients grown in the pristine Alpine environment, include soapwort with its natural emulsifying and cleansing properties.
The inspiration drawn from plant science dates back to 1967, when yellow gentian and lemon balm were used to formulate the French beauty brand’s first range of cleansing products. These two ingredients, along with organic sunflower oil, now form the key ingredients of the new Total Cleansing Oil which turns into a silky milk when activated with water, dissolving long-wear, waterproof makeup and pollutants while preserving the skin’s microbiota.
Maintaining the balance of cutaneous bacteria and preventing hard water residue build-up on the skin’s surface is what the new range promises. Beyond cleansing, it aims to retain moisture and prevent dehydration. The presence of plant-based squalene, with its anti-ageing and anti-inflammatory properties, reinforces the skin’s hydrolipidic film, forming a barrier on the skin microbiota to lock in moisture and improve plumpness.
Three foam cleansers are formulated for different skin types. The Hydrating Gentle Foaming Cleanser is a creamy, hydrating cleanser for normal to dry skin, enriched with organic saponaria and aloe vera extract. For combination to oily skin types, the Purifying Gentle Foam Cleanser, enriched with organic meadowsweet and a salicylic acid derivative, preserves the skin’s natural balance as it exfoliates. Sensitive and dry skin can find comfort in the Soothing Gentle Foaming Cleanser that contains organic chamomile and shea Butter to soften, smooth, and soothe.
Self-care is also a personal, sensory experience, so cleansers of different textures are formulated for individual inclinations. The line-up also includes a refreshing no-rinse Cleansing Micellar Water formulated with purifying Alpine Herbs and microscopic cleansing spheres to remove light make-up, impurities, and pollutants; the creamy Velvet Cleansing Milk made from a blend of purifying plant extracts, including Gentian, Hawthorn, and Sage, to re-balance as it cleanses; and the brand new Gentle Renewing Mousse Cleanser formulated with Tamarind Pulp Extract, an AHA that gently exfoliates the skin for increased radiance and luminosity.
Conclude your skin prep journey with the Hydrating Toning Lotion – a gentle, alcohol-free lotion made with aloe vera and fig extracts, that hydrates and softens the skin while keeping its pH and moisture optimal; or the Purifying Toning Lotion specially formulated with purifying meadowsweet extract and witch hazel for oily or combination skin. Dry or sensitive skin types can opt for the Soothing Toning Lotion infused with chamomile, and purple coneflower extract to comfort and soothe the skin.
