Harry Winston Ultimate Emerald Signature: Colourful Secrets

by Pressroom

Meet the four new members of the Ultimate Emerald Signature series, Harry Winston’s most celebrated high jewellery timepiece family.

Seven years ago, the world met the first of the Ultimate Emerald Signature dynasty from the House of Harry Winston – a superlative high jewellery timepiece dressed in nearly 10 carats of the earth’s most precious diamonds.

Bearing the shape of the founder’s favourite emerald cut, the secret watch’s case resembles a pyramid with ascending tiers of brilliant-cut and baguette-cut diamonds that lead to a grand 1-carat emerald-cut diamond right on top. Surrounding the octagonal case, like a dazzling starburst, is a cluster of 24 marquise-cut diamonds, artfully arranged with minimal settings to catch light at different angles.

At the heart of the pyramid lies the watch’s best kept-secret. With a simple swivel of the cover (formed by the upper tiers of the pyramid), a full diamond-paved dial is revealed.

True blue

This year’s additions to the line are identical to the original full-diamond Ultimate Emerald Signature, but dressed in two stunning shades of blue, an important colour for the House of Harry Winston. Not only befitting of royalty, blue is also the colour of the legendary 4.52-carat rare Hope Diamond, which Mr Winston added to his prized collection in 1949.

The Sapphire and Tourmaline models of the Harry Winston Ultimate Emerald Signature have an 18-karat white gold case, just like its 2014 forebear, but sitting at their summits, are an emerald-cut dark blue sapphire and a Paraíba coloured tourmaline, respectively.

An impressive total of 394 sparkling diamonds and precious gemstones are set on the case and dial of each Ultimate Emerald Signature.

For the Blue Sapphire models, two case styles are available: a diamond-set one or a case whose tiers are variously set in light blue and dark blue sapphires. They come with matching dials paved with diamonds and dark and light blue sapphires.

As for the Tourmaline models, a choice of a diamond-set case or a case with alternating tiers of diamonds and tourmalines is available. Both tourmaline models have a watch face paved with 98 brilliant-cut Paraíba coloured tourmalines.

Accompanying all members of the Harry Winston Ultimate Emerald Signature family are sleek satin straps with a white gold buckle set with 29 brilliant-cut diamonds. They come in black for the all-diamond queen, dark blue for the Blue Sapphire pair, and turquoise for the Tourmaline duo.

Like the original Ultimate Emerald Signature, these new models can be worn as a wristwatch, pendant or brooch (the reverse side of the case features a discreet clamp system that fastens it on a dress, scarf or lapel). Each Ultimate Emerald Signature also comes with an additional silk fabric bracelet and an 18-karat white gold chain with 12 brilliant-cut diamonds, offering more versatility of wear.

Now, what might the Ultimate Emerald Signature’s next colour be? Hopefully, we won’t have to wait another seven years to find out.
