The verdict is in: Looking on-trend for Fall/Winter 2019 will require you to be slightly adventurous, but rest assured you’ll look modish, albeit pretty, and it’s all definitely achievable!

This Glow
Chanel takes nude to a whole new level, with rose-tinted taupe on the cheeks – lots of it – made to look like you’ve just killed it at a spin class. And while the world focuses on that made-up post-workout glow, your lips shall glisten quietly, your eyes stay clear and clean, and your brows remain naturally strong in auburn. Perfect foils.
Twiggy 2.0
Dior re-imagines the ’60s, with Twiggy as its beauty icon – who else? However, drawn-in eyeliner ‘lashes’ have replaced those too-famous doll-like false eyelashes – so clever and convenient, even makeup novices can achieve it. The rest, as they say – heavily khol-ed eyelids and frost-coloured lips – is history.
Swordfish
Really, how many ways can you draw your eyeliner? Let’s just say I’ve yet to see them all. I’m a fan of this Swordfish tipped eyeliner look by Yves Saint Laurent Beaute, especially when it’s set against a polished complexion and pale blond, almost fade-to-nothing brows. It’s minimalist, with an Ex-Machina futuristic ring to it.
Precocious
It’s not quite predictable Hollywood siren, where Giorgio Armani Beauty is concerned. The look is more what happens when little fashion girls experiment with grown-up makeup to surprisingly great effects – full siren lips paired un-expectedly with platinum blond brows and sparkly eyeliner. Their fairy godmothers would approve.
High-Def
For Fall 2019, the M.A.C Pro Team has covered a lot of ground with these five makeup looks that focus on eyes, cheeks, and lips. At Lutz Huelle, the focus is on defining the orbs and not much else, but then with so much high drama on the peepers, there’s really no need for much else. Cool and stark, perfect for women who love doing just their eyes.
Natural
The basic work look goes high fashion with this creation at Prabal Gurung by the M.A.C Pro Team. Earth tones on the eyes and understated lips get a glassy finish that makes all the difference. Take it down a notch if you don’t like too much gloss on a muggy day.
New Goth
At Molly Goddard, the M.A.C Pro Team brought out the sweetness of goth – they juxtaposed the look of the English rose with that of Camden’s much-photographed goth punks. Whoever thought rosy cheeks could harmonise so perfectly with lashings of dangerously sexy eyeliner? Two-faced in a perfect balance.
Pout
The eyes aren’t the only features getting all the limelight at Fall 2019. At Roksanda, eye-catching blood red lips stand out amid the supporting charms of brushed brows and clean eyes. Apparently the M.A.C Pro Team felt the need for restraint elsewhere on the face, and rightly so. The result is aristocratic and smashing, a power look to own for this and all seasons.
