Roger Dubuis welcomes the Lunar New Year with the Excalibur Dragon Monotourbillon, a masterpiece blending timekeeping precision with artistic symbolism. Inspired by the Year of the Dragon, this limited edition timepiece reflects the legendary creature’s traits of intelligence, charisma, and confidence.
Crafted with meticulous precision, the dragon on the timepiece is composed of 27 brass pieces adorned with black lacquer and pink gold treatment. This intricate design spans 25 different levels, creating a captivating 3D effect that expresses volume and vitality.
Beneath the surface, the Monotourbillon Calibre RD512SQ is the heartbeat of the timepiece, showcasing Roger Dubuis’ commitment to horological excellence. The skeletonized movement, featuring the Maison’s signature monotourbillons, not only adds complexity but also demands extraordinary craftsmanship. The Flying Tourbillon, mounted on one side without a supporting bridge, is a showcase of both beauty and technical prowess.
The quest for perfection extends to the materials used – the lower tourbillon cage employs non-magnetic titanium, while the upper cage is made of mirror-polished Cobalt Chrome, which reduces the tourbillon’s weight by 16 percent. Limited to just 28 pieces, the Excalibur Dragon Monotourbillon stands as a rare and powerful tribute to the Year of the Dragon. The 42mm case, crafted from pink gold, houses a mesmerising dragon on the sapphire crystal caseback, which precisely matches the view from the front.
