IWC Schaffhausen Presents The Big Pilot Exhibition in Singapore

by Pressroom

To commemorate the launch of the new Pilot’s collection, IWC Schaffhausen will hold The Big Pilot Exhibition at Design Orchard, Singapore, from 9 to 12 September 2021.

An event not to be missed, The Big Pilot Exhibition will showcase more than 30 vintage and historical Big Pilot’s timepieces, this September, in Singapore. A unique opportunity for horological enthusiasts and IWC fans to see these watches up-close, this is the first time so many Big Pilots have been exhibited outside of Switzerland.

Through this immersive exhibition, the story of IWC Schaffhausen’s legendary Big Pilot Watches will be retold, tracing their evolution from functional tool watches to the cultural emblems that they are today.

Held for four days from 9 to 12 September 2021 at Design Orchard, the exhibition will also present timepieces from the current collection, including the recently launched Big Pilot’s Watch 43, Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41, and selected limited-edition pieces.

IWC Big Pilot’s Watches have inspired creators from other fields, such as the arts, fashion, photography, and design, so it is fitting that the Swiss luxury watchmaker has also invited global friends of the brand to take part in this exhibition.

The list of personalities includes Billy Monger, a racing driver, disability campaigner and challenger; Lu Yan, a womenswear designer and sustainability campaigner; Matt Pearson, the co-founder of Airspeeder; Matt Jones, a world-record breaker and IWC Longest Flight pilot; and from Singapore, local sneaker designer Mark Ong, who is also a friend of IWC and the brand’s exclusive Creator Ambassador.

At The Big Pilot Exhibition, a “Talent Wall” will feature the videos of these inspiring individuals who chased their dreams with the IWC Big Pilot’s Watch as their wingman. They share their personal journeys of pushing boundaries and redefining the status quo – stories that resonate with the IWC spirit of innovation. A section of the exhibition will showcase some of Mark Ong’s creative works, too.

Other highlights at The Big Pilot Exhibition include watchmaking classes as well as interactive and experiential activities for both adults and children. IWC has also partnered with lifestyle brands like Leica and Secondnatvre to host photography workshops and leather crafting sessions. Mark Ong and his team will also offer Streetwear customization demonstrations.
