Explore geometric lines and inflated volumes with these playful, sensorial new additions.
Cartier proves once again that contrasts make for a good match with the latest Clash de Cartier additions. A continuation of the bold narrative that underscores the collection, the new pieces push the limit in experimenting with contrasts and contradictions to create harmony.
Spheres and studs make a striking pair once again. This time, oversized Tahitian pearls in shades of grey, plum and green make a statement in volume, while balanced against white gold frames and lateral onyx studs. The play on texture and size exudes outstanding character. Presented in the form of a brooch, a ring with a matching bracelet, and a single earring cuff that can be positioned wherever you please on the ear, flexibility in styling is guaranteed in these limited edition pieces.
For a twist on the Clash de Cartier signature style, the new rose gold pieces feature smooth black onyx beads on the reverse side of rings, bracelets, pendants and hoop earrings. The contrast in colour and shape is as much a visual treat as it is a sensory experience when the round and mobile onyx beads come into contact with the skin.
Clash [Un]Limited Capsule
Pushing the boundaries even further on what defines precious jewellery is the Clash [Un]limited edition capsule. Voluminous silhouettes, excessive in style and spiky in both form and attitude, are exclusive pieces that highlight the Clash de Cartier stud with remarkable craftsmanship. Employing the use of Shagreen setting, which is made up of a complex and meticulous selection of stones in different sizes that hold themselves together without the need for claws, the novel pieces come in the form of a curved stud or structured pyramid paved in glittering diamonds, an oversized cone that combines the beauty of onyx and diamonds, or a statement ring of diamonds and onyx with amethyst accents.
Boundless in the pursuit of limitless style, the capsule collection explores jewellery pieces with multiple uses, like an articulated ring dotted with pyramidal diamond and onyx studs that can be opened and worn as a midi ring, and a “mitten” watch that melds the art of jewellery, fashion and watchmaking into one – a rose gold mesh set with a constellation of diamonds surrounding a Baignoire Allongée watch hemmed with studs. This exceptional piece is as alluring to behold as it’s supple to wear.
Breaking the rules entails liberation, a concept perpetuated in each design of the collection. The pyramid-shaped cones found on the multi-stud rings and bracelets, are mobile and separate from one another. All the studs can move laterally, connected to an onyx bead found on the inside that rotates on its own axis. This ease of movement and consideration of the sensation of the jewellery on skin, sets the collection apart. Even the traditional tennis line is reinvented by reversing the diamonds; the pavilion becomes a decorative stud, while the flat table surface is now on the side of the skin, unable to be touched.
Like the Clash [Un]limited capsule, the new face of Cartier embodies the same free-spirited, energetic and authentic character. A versatile and multidimensional actress with a distinct, elegant sense of style, Lily Collins is a long-time friend of the Maison.
When it came to expressing the duality of the Clash [Un]limited jewellery, Lily Collins was the obvious choice. Unique and committed, Lily Collins embodies a new generation of artists who dare to reveal their different sides, sometimes classic and elegant, sometimes creative, sometimes even extravagant. In summary, people who do not limit themselves.
