Cue that 007 soundtrack and check out why this new dive watch is seen by many as the best version ever.

1. It’s a brand new, high calibre movement

This collection is part of the Master Chronometer family so every timepiece houses a METAS-certified Co-Axial Master Chronometer 8800 movement. For the watch fanatics, this means it has a power reserve of 55 hours and keeps to higher standards of precision, durability and anti-magnetism. In case, pundits want to revel in this glorious movement, the watch features a see-through (sapphire crystal no less!) caseback for a peekaboo view.

2. The wave is back

Keeping it more aligned with the Bond heritage, the popular wave design has made a comeback, this time laser-engraved on the dial and on the back of the watch.

3. Big revamps on the outside too

Aside from the diving bezel being made more durable with ceramic in Ceragold or white enamel, the dials are also laser-cut from polished ceramic in various tones. All hour markers have been raised and given a pop of Super-LumiNova for greater legibility while the date window has been shifted from 3 o’clock spot to the southbound 6 o’clock for a more symmetrical display. Even the skeleton hands have been tweaked ever so slightly to make sure everything populating the dial is just the right size and proportion. The bracelets have also been given an ergonomic refresh for a more integrated, more masculine and hence more trendy feel. Speaking of big, this 2018 dive watch is also bucking the trend and upsizing to 42mm.

4. More watch for your money

Variety is in with 14 unique models, including 6 steel options and 8 in a mix of steel and 18K gold. Alongside the classic black and blue options for the dial and bezel, there is another interesting option of matte silver dial matched to blue bezel available.

5. Because Bond is the word

After more than 2 decades seen together, the Seamaster 300M continues to be the preferred watch for Mr. James Bond. The watch garnered much attention after being worn by Pierce Brosnan’s James Bond in the 1995 film Goldeneye, and Daniel Craig continues this tradition with the latest on his wrist. What this means is owners can at least feel that they own one of the gadgets belonging to the world’s most famous secret agent. With the revamp, the watch is certainly looking more showy and luxurious. At the recent launch, fans and celebrities including MTV VJ Hanli Hoefer, actors Joel Choo, Chen Han Wei and actress Carrie Wong were see checking out the new collection.
