Moynat’s La Malle aux Trésors is a masterpiece of miniaturisation.
They weren’t kidding when they said good things come in small packages. Moynat – one of the oldest French luxury brands, first established in Paris back in 1849 – shows us how to do mini, marvellously.
La Malle aux Trésors is an exclusive made-to-order creation that painstakingly recreates the clean graphic lines of the Maison’s iconic Gabrielle bag, but in miniature. The impeccable attention to detail extends right to the miniaturisation of its distinctive features, such as the signature “M” twist lock in palladium and yellow gold.
Measuring just 18cm by 15cm each, the tiny wonders are presented in a specially crafted birch wood trunk meticulously dressed in Moynat’s signature Carbon/Bronze Canvas 1920. Each set comprises four Gabrielle Nano bags carefully differentiated colours in exotic leathers: Shiny alligator in Beige and Emerald, Crocodile Natura in Ivory and Shiny lizard in Fuchsia.
To achieve the highest shine after the exotic leather has been dyed, a layer known as the “flanche” is applied then polished using a special agate stone, for depth of colour and luminescence – a technique previously only reserved for couture creations.
Available upon special order at selected Moynat boutiques from June 2023.
