The updated Perlée collection from French luxury brand Van Cleef & Arpels tells the Poetry of Time.
In Van Cleef & Arpels’ grand tradition of “jewels that tell time”, the Perlée collection is a standout with its delicate spherical perfection and meticulous use of precious and semi-precious gems.
Its signature aesthetic centres around the dainty rounded rows of mirror-polished beads in rose gold or diamond-paved white gold, perfectly encircling dials of pavé-set diamonds, guilloché rose gold or luminous mother-of pearl.
Its new collection of wristwatches comprises five models featuring interchangeable alligator straps, along with the choice of an articulated golden beaded jewellery bracelet.
Inspired by pocket watches of 17th-century Europe, the collection of six jewellery secret watches hang on a long delicate necklace chain, and are adorned with the rich vibrancy of precious or ornamental stones. To check the time discreetly, the bejewelled motif is discreetly rotated to reveal the dial.
Three of these precious watches are dressed in the intense hues of coloured precious gems – rubies, emeralds and sapphires. Yet another three feature juicy coloured cabochons – a light blue-grey chalcedony, luminous rose quartz, and a translucent violet-tinged blue sodalite.
