Jaeger-LeCoultre: Written in the Stars

by Pressroom

An ode to the passing of time and the bonds that we weave throughout – Jaeger-LeCoultre draws our attention to two iconic moon phase watches, each with its own charm

Cherished connections are forged over time. And time acts as a marker of these connections: anniversaries that commemorate unions, countdowns to seeing loved ones again, and so much more. Jaeger-LeCoultre celebrates these perpetual connections with its celestial complications – the  Master Ultra Thin Perpetual Calendar, and the Rendez-Vous Moon.

Master Ultra Thin Perpetual Calendar

A sunray-brushed 39mm dial in intense midnight blue in a polished pink gold case with elongated lugs define the good looks of the Master Ultra Thin Perpetual Calendar. Its slim silhouette of just 9.2mm in thickness, also houses one of horology’s great complications – a perpetual calendar that automatically adjusts for months of different lengths and for leap years, without the need for any manual correction until 2100, a non-leap-year centenary.

Within this perpetual dress watch lies the latest generation of calibre 868, entirely made within the Manufacture. Even with an increased power reserve of 70 hours, it doesn’t add to the thickness of the calibre. Thanks to a new escapement and pallets, the energy transmission is made smoother with less friction of the moving parts, making it highly reliable.

An intricate starry sky defines the moon phase positioned at noon, while applied hour-markers, polished and satin-finished golden hands, and legible sub-dials with a double opaline finish on the outside and azure on the inside complete the details of the dial.

Rendez-Vous Moon

On the Rendez-Vous Moon Medium in pink gold, the moon phase appears at 6 o’clock: a delicate moon against a deep blue lacquered starry sky. Gold hands sweep across a 29mm or 34mm dial, where brilliant-cut diamonds adorn the bezel and the heart of its silver guilloché dial, accompanied by floral hour numerals.

The refined silhouette of the Rendez-Vous Moon is secured on the wrist with a double folding buckle on an alligator leather strap, and runs on the automatic winding calibre 925A with a power reserve of 38 hours.

With the Rendez-Vous collection, Jaeger-LeCoultre continues the tradition of crafting thinner, more complex timepieces that feature elements of high jewellery and complications. The versatility of these watches would take the wearer from day to night, on any occasion.
