IWC Schaffhausen unveils cutting-edge Chronographs for motorsport aficionados.
For the Las Vegas Grand Prix, IWC Schaffhausen introduced a pair of performance-driven chronographs, paying homage to its motorsport partners, Mercedes-AMG and the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team. The Pilot’s Watch Performance Chronograph 41 series, meticulously fashioned from titanium or Ceratanium, embodies the brand’s mastery in precision chronographs and innovative materials.
The hallmark feature of these timepieces lies in their ceramic bezels adorned with a tachymeter scale, enabling wearers to calculate average speeds based on distances covered. The sleek black dials, finished with gloss, host recessed totalisers, Super-LumiNova-filled indices and numerals, ensuring impeccable readability even in low-light conditions. Powered by the IWC-manufactured 69385 calibre, these chronographs are water resistant up to 10 bar, mirroring IWC’s commitment to durability and precision.
IWC Schaffhausen, known for crafting instrument watches defined by high accuracy and robustness, underscores these traits in their collaboration with motorsport giants. The longstanding partnerships, beginning with Mercedes-AMG in 2004 and furthering with the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team in 2013, culminate in the creation of these bespoke performance chronographs.
One iteration, the AMG (Ref. IW388305/04), crafted from titanium, showcases meticulous detailing with a brushed finish and polished horn elements. Alternatively, the Ref. IW388304 presents a titanium bracelet with H-links and an integrated folding clasp, reflecting IWC’s expertise in working with this resilient metal.
Distinguished by its Ceratanium case, the Pilot’s Watch Performance Chronograph 41 Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team (Ref. IW388306/07) epitomises the marriage of titanium’s lightness and ceramic’s durability. Paired with black rubber straps or Ceratanium bracelets, these timepieces exude a distinctive matte black finish.
