Fluid and organic, the dazzling Tilda’s Bow collection is designed with elegance of movement in mind.
The bow has come to be associated with the promise a gift brings, and even dates as far back as the Baroque period as a motif in jewellery, portraits and design. A motif imbued with nostalgia, the feminine and delicate bow has also been featured within Graff’s high jewellery designs across more than half a century. This time, in a contemporary take, Graff presents Tilda’s Bow, a collection that encapsulates the precious moment a silk ribbon is tied with love, precision and care.
We are all familiar with the shape of a bow, and this presented us with a unique challenge. When designing Tilda’s Bow, we recognised that the silhouette had to be distinctive while also reflecting Graff’s unique style.
Anne-Eva Geoffroy, Design Director at Graff
The movement and fluidity of the bow is epitomised perfectly in each piece by bringing every loop and curve to life in pavé diamonds in round, custom-cut and emerald cut. Dancing with fire and brilliance, each ribbon shaped under the deft hands of Graff’s master artisans are elegant and organic. Every creation in the Tilda’s Bow collection carries a subtle uniqueness: whether it is the rings, earrings, bracelets, necklaces and pendants, or the brooches and watches, each one is designed to complement yet not perfectly mirror one another.
Anne-Eva Geoffroy, the Design Director at Graff, shares the complex and time-consuming process that begins with a detailed sketch to “communicate the rhythm of the piece”, with each diamond that is used, carefully selected to accentuate the designs. Clay is then used to sculpt and form each piece in 3D at the workshop in order to capture the movement and fine detail required. The placement of diamonds is also a work of art: a number of diamonds within the bow are partially obscured from view, but doing this adds shadows and depth to make each design come to life.
Designed to be loved, worn and treasured for generations, the collection is inspired by the brand’s founder, Laurence Graff’s bond with his granddaughter – one that speaks of eternal devotion, flawless perfection and family bonds, like a perfectly tied bow. These values also hold true for the family business that Graff is, with an unwavering passion upheld through the generations.
Against the backdrop of the Cote d’Azur in France, the essence of the collection shines through on Dutch model Rianne Van Rompaey, through the vision of photographer Mikael Jansson.
