Italian masters of coloured gemstones Bulgari commemorates the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with a splendid emerald parure.
When Queen Elizabeth II reached 70 years on the throne on 6 February 2022, she became the first British monarch to ever celebrate a Platinum Jubilee – and would quite possibly, also be the last.
Seventy years in active service is a rare feat indeed, and only came to be when a 25-year-old Elizabeth was obliged to take the throne as Queen in 1953 when her father died at the young age of 56.
Any fan of the Netflix series The Throne can attest to the true grit and British stiff upper lip required for a lifetime dedicated to duty in service of her country – and the upcoming Platinum Jubilee celebrations are set to pay tribute to the remarkable woman and monarch that is Queen Elizabeth II, at the grand age of 96.
To commemorate this momentous occasion, Bulgari has designed and created an extraordinary exclusive edition high jewellery tiara and watch parure, the Jubilee Emerald Garden.
Constructed over 1,500 hours by a master goldsmith with a team of five, the Jubilee Emerald Garden tiara features a mesmerising 63.44-carat Zambian emerald set amidst an exquisite floral bouquet arrangement of emerald and diamond foliage. Versatile enough to be worn both as a tiara and a necklace, this exclusive piece offers a sneak peek into Bulgari’s soon-to-be-revealed new High Jewellery collection, magnificent works of art centred around emeralds.
To complement the tiara, Bulgari has also crafted a special edition Divas’ Dream high jewellery watch in white gold, set with 8 Zambian emeralds and iced out with diamonds on an iconic fan-motif design.
