French luxury house Boucheron reinvents its iconic stackable design with new twists and turns – to celebrate 20 years of Quatre
In a tribute to two decades of elegance and innovation, Boucheron unveils an array of anniversary surprises for its iconic Quatre collection. From its humble beginnings in 2004 with a singular ring, the Quatre line has flourished to include stackable bracelets to collar necklaces and even hair jewellery, continuously reinventing its aesthetic, and embracing a kaleidoscope of colours and designs over the years.
Drawing inspiration from Boucheron’s rich heritage, the collection features four distinct codes, each of which honours a different facet of Boucheron’s history. The Double Godron first appeared in the Maison’s creations in the 1860s and symbolises eternal love; the Clou de Paris recalls the cobblestones of Place Vendôme, the location of the Maison’s original address; a row of diamonds symbolises eternity, echoing the everlasting hardness of the most precious of stones; and finally the Grosgrain motif recalls the couture heritage that helped make Boucheron’s name.
For its 20th anniversary, Boucheron unveils a series of new designs that pay homage to the collection’s original codes, comprising rings, bracelets, cuff bangles, and even an exquisite collar necklace made up of around fifty Quatre rings.
Notably, the anniversary pieces showcase intricate layering and stacking of rings and bracelets. Not content with merely revisiting past glories, Boucheron introduces an ultra-precious edition of the Quatre Classique, adorned with spessartite garnets and yellow sapphires to elevate its allure to new heights. These new stones intensify the sparkle of the row of diamonds and contrast with the matteness of the Clou de Paris’ brown PVD. Assembling these groups of garnets and yellow sapphires posed a significant challenge to the Maison’s Gemstones department, which spent several years sourcing stones of absolutely identical colours.
To present these novelties, Boucheron has crafted new content to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Quatre, including a new campaign that stars Polish model and activist Anja Rubik, and a video that takes a closer look at the craftsmanship that goes into making the Quatre.
