Valentino’s new face Florence Pugh is just the DI.VA to plunge fearlessly into an exploration of identify, humanity and non-conformity.
There is something about her gaze that is arresting, challenging and beautifully noble all at once – Florence Pugh is undoubtedly a star of her generation.
Without missing a beat, Valentino – a brand with which Pugh has long had an eventful history on the red carpet – has just announced her as the new face of the Maison – the reigning Valentino DI.VA.
Utterly in sync with Valentino creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli, the English actress with the unwavering gaze and refreshing unapologetic style is happy to embody the brand’s commitment to exploring identity and authenticity. Afterall, according to Piccioli, DI.fferent VA.lues = DIVA, a multifaceted character of codes and inner values.
Known for her outstanding character portrayals in films such as Fighting with my Family and Little Women, Pugh has also made headlines flaunting her body positive attitude in a sheer pink Valentino gown at the Valentino haute couture show in 2022.
For this new Valentino DI.VA campaign entitled an Encyclopedia of Feelings, Pugh puts her emotional range to good use – crying, screaming, laughing – being authentic. Photographed by the renowned Steven Meisel in New York, the campaign features fresh pops of colour in fuchsia and mirrored silver against black and white monochrome, and captures Florence Pugh doing what she does best – as siren, thespian, DI.VA, and ultimately, a human being.
The other star of the show, of course, is the new Valentino Garavani Rockstud23 bag. Trademark of the Maison, the iconic pyramid-shaped stud – inspired by Roman palace doors – are daringly reinterpreted through new and bold refined designs of the Valentino Garavani Rockstud Accessories. The values that they celebrate are equally strong: identity and a non-conformist attitude shift towards an aristo-punk vibe.
