Cartier’s Must Game Bag, launched in 1973, has been refreshed to be in tune with the times.
The Must de Cartier, with the Must Game bag’s signature burgundy and triumphant logo, ignited a new way of life in the 1980s.
The refreshed Must de Cartier line-up now includes zipped wallets, continental flap wallets, the Game bag, hobo bag, and tote bag – all inspired by the original Must Game bag.
The 2020 Must Game bag is a nod to its 1973 original but has been updated to complement our modern times. Its style is one that’s relaxed, urban, and portrays androgynous chic. What’s different from its predecessor is a redesigned lambskin lining and a secret pocket containing a mirror engraved with the Maison’s three historical temples: Cartier, Paris, London and New York.
The most prominent aspect of the 2020 refresh is an embossed and saddle-stitched XXL logo. Situated in the middle of a medallion, one would immediately recognise it as one of the bag’s distinctive codes.
Its adjustable shoulder strap is equally eye-catching, with an ardillon buckle stylised with a C – keener eyes may notice the same buckle on Cartier’s watch straps.
The updated Must de Cartier collection’s three bags come in Cartier’s classics: burgundy, black, and beige, to match their small leather goods: a mini wallet, an international wallet with flap, a simple card holder and a business card holder.
