The Swiss watchmaker is back with a refreshed old favourite as well as a new-ish tech wearable for avid golfers.
Wearable Tech, the Golf Edition
Tag Heuer has taken its luxury smartwatch, the Connected Modular 45 and given it a golf-inspired makeover. So while its innards remain the same, there are some visual changes like the Golf Edition logo on the bezel, a white strap with green stitching (for those who don’t fancy this strap, there is a black rubber version included) and a black ceramic bezel that’s boasts a 1 to 18 scale to sync with the 18-hole rounds on the green. In addition, the company has launched their golf app to help users improve their game.
The app includes regularly updated maps of 39,000 golf courses from around the world. It will also record shot distances with an accuracy up to less than one metre, scores and stats for four players and distances to green and hazards. With precise 3D mapping, TAG Heuer is laying claim to having the most advanced golf app out there on the market, and it also hopes to attract fans from the amateur circuit. For those who baulk at the price tag of this luxury piece, good news: the app is available for download to those who own an Apple watch.
Like all good (and expensive) smartwatches, the TAG Heuer Connected Modular 45 Golf Edition includes all the bells and whistles including GPS, NFC for contactless payments, a battery life for 25 hours of play time, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of storage, water resistance to 50 metres, and 3 golf balls.
