Limited to 150 pieces, the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon Polychrome is fine watchmaking that is both novel in make and stunning in presence.
The TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon has long earned its place in the Swiss luxury watchmaker’s portfolio of masterpieces as a high-performance, premier complication model. Its statement good looks now come with a new multi-coloured dial design that is made to impress.
TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon Polychrome
The main focus of attention here is the fresh rainbow-colored skeletonized dial accomplished by executing state-of-the-art patented technology with expert finesse and mastery. Heuer worked closely with an expert partner specialized in vacuum deposition PVD treatments, and the only supplier in the world to offer this revolutionary finish, Positive Coating, to achieve this vibrancy in the final gradual colour spectrum. Metallic oxides are deposited in extremely thin transparent layers in controlled and miniscule variations of thickness (a few nanometres).
This vivid dial features the classic TAG Heuer Carrera balanced tricompax layout that highlights a black flange with a 60 second/minute scale, a multi-coloured tourbillon at 6 o’clock, and rhodium-plated blue chronograph sub-counters at 3 and 9 o’clock. The black-gold-plated polished hands that match the sleek black case and matte black alligator leather finished with a sandblasted grade 2 titanium folding clasp with double safety buttons and the TAG Heuer shield.
At 45mm, the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon Polychrome is a presence. You might find familiarity in its curves and lines as the case, bezel and strap design are based on the celebrated TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon Nanograph. Here, the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon Polychrome’s all-black case is crafted from ultra-lightweight and resistant brushed black PVD grade 5 titanium with a fixed carbon tachymeter bezel. The watch is completed with a domed, bevelled sapphire crystal that is anti-reflective, a black PVD grade 5 titanium crown and push buttons, along with a black PVD grade 5 titanium screwed sapphire case back engraved with the number of each piece (XXX/150) in this limited release.
Housed within this impressive exterior is the in-house Calibre Heuer 02T COSC chronograph tourbillon which offers a power reserve of 80 hours. At once modern and bold, the TAG Heuer Chronograph Tourbillon Polychrome is a fresh take on a celebrated design and speaks to the luxury watchmaker’s commitment to innovation and design. This limited edition exudes character and style combined with the most advanced watchmaking expertise.
