The Zenith Manufacture opens its doors in Switzerland, complete with a “watch clinic” and the Chronomaster Original Boutique Edition.
The Zenith Manufacture Boutique
Located in Le Locle, Switzerland, the Zenith Manufacture is a symbolic choice of location for the Swiss watchmaker’s exclusive boutique as it’s been long regarded as the birthplace of the very first vertically integrated Swiss watchmaking site all the way back in 1865. For fans and shoppers alike, learning more about a Zenith timepiece from the place of its creation and experiencing first-hand, the watchmaker’s centuries-old watchmaking tradition is a memorable experience.
Upon arrival at the boutique, visitors are welcomed by a “starry night sky” that stretches across the floor and spiral staircase. The star is a symbolic element central to Zenith’s lore from the foundation of its beginnings to its “Time to Reach Your Star” philosophy. Visitors can then deep dive into the Zenith universe at the interactive Story Bar with audio-visual presentations of inspiring stories of individuals from Zenith’s past and present, and view rarer archive watches on display. Specific models can be requested for viewing ahead of the visit through advanced appointment bookings on the Zenith website.
The Zenith Watch Clinic Workshop
Onsite visitors can also attend a 3-hour Watch Clinic workshop with three distinct modules adapted to each visitor’s level of knowledge and interest. Available in four languages, the modules include:
- A basic course on how mechanical movements function.
- A chronograph course that delves into the specifics of the El Primero 3600 1/10th of a second chronograph function.
- A course on restoration watchmaking and how Zenith preserves its historical works for those with a passion for vintage watches.
At its restoration atelier, upon request, visitors can witness the meticulous process of how Zenith Icons and vintage Zenith watches are restored to their former glory. With its archives spanning the entire company’s history, the restoration department can work on any watch that Zenith has produced since 1865.
The Zenith Chronomaster Original Boutique Edition
To mark the opening of its Manufacture boutique, Zenith is also introducing a boutique-exclusive special edition – the Chronomaster Original Boutique Edition with its striking blue dial paired with a silver chronograph. The Zenith Blue is drawn from the starry night sky inspired its founder over 150 years ago and represents the identity of the brand. Since then, shades of blue have adorned many movements and dials of Zenith’s creations.
Historically inspired, this celebratory edition unites the signature, acclaimed design codes of the earliest El Primero steel chronographs from 1969 with the iconic automatic high-frequency chronograph calibre’s latest iteration that measures and displays elapsed time in 1/10th fractions of a second.
Available on either a steel bracelet or blue calfskin leather strap, the Chronomaster Original Boutique Edition is available at all Zenith boutiques worldwide and at its online shop.
