Chanel: Camélia in Bloom

Chanel introduces precious new additions to the iconic Camélia line of jewellery

It’s the time of the year when the weather turns cool, and there’s no better time to appreciate the camellia that remains resilient to frost, blooming even in winter.

The camellia’s affiliation to the House of Chanel began when Gabrielle Chanel pinned one of the white flowers to her belt, back in 1913. More than a century later, the camellia has become a symbol of the brand, and continues to inspire many creations. It’s no wonder: An air of simplicity surrounds the camellia flower, with its clean curves and delicate beauty that lends itself to a myriad of styles from the realistic to the abstract.

This year, the Maison adds new creations in gold, interpreting this flower into wearable art. The Bouton de Camélia choker in yellow gold, or white gold, stands out. The statement piece features a 0.25 carat brilliant-cut centre diamond accompanied by 48 brilliant-cut diamonds. Distinctive on its own, it exudes a different charm when layered.

The Bouton de Camélia transformable earrings in 18K gold, are just as versatile in style. They can be worn as dangly earrings, and easily transformed to studs. Secured with a locking back, it features 80 brilliant-cut diamonds.

Beyond style, the new additions highlight the Maison’s savoir-faire and unique take on jewellery creations.
