The beloved iconic signature Mickey Mouse of Gerald Genta is back with a cheeky smile and a wave.
Swiss watch designer Gerald Genta left his mark on a few iconic luxury sports watches, namely the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak – but he is also known for his work with other high-end watch manufacturers including IWC, Omega SA, Universal Genève, Patek Philippe.
Alongside his collaborations with famous watch brands, Genta founded his company in 1969 to create his eponymous line of timepieces – and none is more beloved than his totally unexpected series of Disney character watches.
In the 1990s, Genta began using a retrograde mechanism in his character watches and this was the start of his wildly collectible Retro Fantasy collection. And now, we’re delighted to say, the mischievous mouse is back – this time leaping unto the rhodium-plated sunray dial. Its left arm indicates the minutes on a 210-degree retrograde sector meanwhile the jumping hour appears at 5 o’clock.
The new Gerald Genta Arena Retrograde with smiling Disney Mickey Mouse is a joyful, playful watchmaking classic and absolutely faithful to the spirit and soul of the brand.
Released in a limited edition of 150 pieces, this automatic mono-retrograde movement has a 42-hour power reserve, and is housed in the distinctive historical 41 mm-diameter Gerald Genta Arena round polished stainless steel case, with a cheerful red textured rubber strap.
