Mobility and multi-functionality meet timeless design in the new Rimowa and Vitra collaboration
The German luggage manufacturer Rimowa and Swiss design furniture company Vitra are launching two limited edition creations designed to fit right into the pace and to meet the needs of modern life.
This collaboration combines our expertise in the design of living and working spaces with Rimowa’s know-how in the field of mobile functionality.
Nora Fehlbaum, CEO of Vitra

At the centre of the Rimowa Vitra 2025 collaboration is aluminium, a durable material which both Rimowa and Vitra both possess deep knowledge and expertise in. What comes to mind when it comes to incorporating aluminium in their designs, are the Eames Aluminium Chair and Rimowa’s Original and Classic suitcase collections, both iconic in their own right.
Sharing a passion for durability and craftsmanship, this collaboration perfectly embodies the essence of ‘design’ – where innovation and aesthetics come together.
Hugues Bonnet-Masimbert, CEO of Rimowa

First up, the Aluminium Stool (SGD$3,710), limited to 1000 pieces, is a mobile cube made from Rimowa’s iconic grooved aluminium and equipped with the Maison’s Multiwheel® system. Available in Silver & Ice Blue, Silver & Papyrus and Silver & Emerald, this seating object opens up to a storage space upholstered with Vitra’s environmentally friendly fabric, Laser RE. Every detail is considered in the design: the lid’s detachable seat cushion adds comfort while detachable leather dividers optimise organisation.

The Aluminium Toolbox, limited to 100 pieces and available exclusively in Europe via rimowa.com and worldwide from Vitra, is inspired by the Vitra Toolbox designed by Arik Levy in 2010. Also available in the same choice of the colour combinations as the Aluminium Stool, the Aluminium Toolbox comes in RIMOWA’s signature anodized aluminium casing, and a recycled fabric interior, in keeping with the original Toolbox’s history of sustainability.
The aluminium components by Rimowa are produced at their historic headquarters in Cologne, while Vitra’s upholstered textile elements are manufactured on the Vitra Campus in Weil am Rhein.

The two products, along with Rimowa’s legendary sticker sets (SGD $70), with motifs featuring both brands’ signature design elements, can be purchased online at vitra.com and rimowa.com starting at 12:15am SGT on 19 June. The Aluminium Stool and limited edition sticker sets will also be available at select Rimowa flagship stores worldwide on the same day. A dedicated installation will also debut at the Vitra Campus in Weil am Rhein, and remain open till 27 June.
