Patek Philippe: Watch Art Grand Exhibition Singapore 2019

by Pressroom

What, when, where – to enter, immerse and appreciate.

Following Dubai, Munich, London and most recently in New York in 2017, Singapore is set to be Patek Philippe’s chosen venue for the fifth “Watch Art Grand Exhibition” this year. If we went by the exhibition features in the previous destinations, one can expect in-depth insights into the universe and creations of the last independent family-owned Genevan watchmaking company.

Singapore and Southeast Asian markets are important for watchmaking companies, significant not just because of the number of collectors and enthusiasts based in the region, but also their major role in building appreciation for the work of fine mechanical watchmaking. That said, Patek Philippe is pulling all stops to ensure a event of extraordinary proportions.

From 28 September until 13 October 2019, collectors and aficionados of watchmaking artistry can immerse themselves in the world of Patek Philippe recreated in ten distinctive themed rooms spanning over 1800 square meters, at the Marina Bay Sands Theater in Singapore.

An experience akin to personally visiting the historic salons on Rue du Rhône in Geneva, the manufacture in Plan-les-Ouates, or the Patek Philippe Museum.

Napoleon Room: Set like the Patek Philippe Salon in Geneva, with a motion-picture panoramic view of Lake Geneva. This is also where the limited special editions created for the South-East Asia market are displayed.

What better time then for Singapore to be host, than during her Bicentennial year. A specially themed Singapore 200th Anniversary room will present selected timepieces and milestones of Patek Philippe’s history together with key milestones of Singapore’s rich history since Sir Stamford Raffles’ arrival.

Singapore 200th Anniversary Room: Where selected timepieces and events from Patek Philippe’s timeline alongside key milestones in Singapore’s history are showcased.

Limited special-edition watches and an important collection of rare handcrafts timepieces that are inspired by the mix of cultural and artistic expressions of Southeast Asia and Singapore will also be launched at the Exhibition.

You want to watch this space for more updates, as we share what we know about the Exhibition, along the way. In the meantime:

Visitors can watch a movie portraying Patek Philippe’s history, admire the manufacture’s complete current collection, to include a unique selection of complicated watches as well as a stunning range of movements.

Cinema: where the historic Patek Philippe film will be screened.

And live on site, watchmakers and artisans will be present to demonstrate their horological artistry skills. We will be looking forward to watch the display of finesse by specialist artisans such as enamel painters whose guild has been associated with watchmaking for centuries.

  • Current Collection Room: Interior of which is inspired by the appointment of the Patek Philippe Salon on Rue du Rhône in Geneva, for the presentation of the current collection.

After completing the tour, visitors have the opportunity to relax in the Patek Philippe lounge café.
