The New Face of the Q Family
Combining the elegance of a four-door luxury coupé with the practical versatility of a large SUV, the new Audi Q8 is generous and elegant – perfect for the urban family. This athletic 5-seater is tough enough for off-road duty, but equally at home along highways and zippy city streets with all-wheel steering and super agile quattro all-wheel drive.
The interior is sleek and spacious, beating its direct competitors in the sporty crossover category in most relevant dimensions, especially interior length and headroom. The exterior is a handsome update of the classic Audi aesthetic – square-jawed and characterful with a brawny radiator grille, and with sophisticated touches like the elegantly sloping roofline and frameless windows.
Intuitive Intelligence on the Road
Once inside the car, you’ll quickly come to realise that user experience is as high a priority as driving pleasure at Audi – this is where the dream of a seamless virtual experience starts. The sleek piano-black virtual cockpit features three MMI touch response screens in a design push toward freely configurable smart screens and away from fiddly buttons and switches.
Connectivity is key with Audi connect, a system which offers search and predictive features, as well as location services, amongst other things.
A whole range of handy remote Audi connect features for the Q8 can be easily accessed via myAudi app on any smartphone. When away from your car, you can choose to lock and unlock the doors, and even start the engine, remotely, keeping you in control of your vehicle at all times.
Its route-planning feature allows you to send an itinerary to your car before you even get into it, allowing for a speedy take-off while ensuring your journey is up-to-date with live traffic and hazard information. With the myAudi app, drivers can also transfer special destinations to the navigation system, stream music or transfer the smartphone calendar to the MMI.
Safety and seamlessness are emphasised in the user experience design by supporting the driver to keep full attention on the road: tactile and acoustic feedback confirms when a finger activates a function on the touchscreen; handwriting function makes for speedy input minus the buttons; voice control and natural language commands turns the car into an intelligent dialogue partner. The voice control can, for example, understand the sentence “I am hungry” and in response suggests restaurants close by.
Keeping You and Yours Safe, Always
Whether parking, in the city or on long journeys, the Audi Q8 supports its driver in many situations and serves to protect everyone who shares the experience. The central driver assistance controller, and up to six cameras placed around the car, continuously computes data of your surroundings, and provides a wide range of functionality like 360-degree parking assist, Audi pre sense front, and lane change warning.
Individual user profiles allow as many as 400 preferred settings to be stored for multiple drivers, and all shared users have information about the car’s location and fuel reserve. Geofencing alerts can also be set up to inform you should the car be taken beyond a distance limit or outside of a prescribed perimeter, which can be very handy should the vehicle be in the hands of an unfamiliar person.
With the Audi connect safety and service package, customers also get the functions emergency call, online roadside assist and Audi service request. In case of an accident, an emergency call will be triggered automatically. For quick and targeted help, rescue-relevant data such as accident location and severity are transmitted to the Audi emergency call centre.
