Our latest BagTalk welcomes into the conversation, bags soft to the touch, with just the right amount of slouch
A Spring refresh beckons. In our last conversation about bags we love, a colour-coded guide emerged. This season, we are yearning for softer, slouchier silhouettes in the bag department – in Spring colours, no less. Here are five bags to have and to hold (literally) for the season and beyond.
BOTTEGA VENETA Ciao Ciao

Whether the Andiamo is on your wishlist or existing wardrobe bag list, Bottega Veneta’s Ciao Ciao bag looks set to join its ranks. It embodies all there is to love about the Andiamo but with an added two-way flap that adds to its functionality, provides more ways to style the bag. A hidden hook closure allows the flap to be closed in the front or attached to the interior Intrecciato pocket.
Crafted in silky calf leather in two sizes, in a range of colours that adds to the cool factor, we love the large size for extra roominess, and in the outstanding shade of green the brand labels as Matcha, pictured here.
CELINE Camille 16 Soft Bag

For those who are just venturing out of structured bags to explore softer silhouettes to carry, Celine’s latest addition to the 16 Soft line is a strong contender. The Camille bag is the latest member of the bag family, sporting refined calfskin leather with a suppleness soft in touch yet shiny in finish.
The hobo bag features a sewn-back construction with piping that highlights its round hand, and secured with a leather flap that folds in line with the familiar gold finish turnlock closure. shaped like a discreet jewel. Available in two sizes this season, the Camille Soft 16 bag’s versatility in style comes in the form of two removable straps that can be worn or separately. We’re drawn to the buttery shade of yellow, aptly named Spring Yellow, pictured here.
FENDI Mamma Baguette

The Fendi Baguette is an icon for a reason. This season, the mother Baguette – Mamma Baguette – makes a resounding return in buttery nappa leather after its debut 25 years ago, in three sizes – large, medium and small. We especially like the milky shade of Matcha green, pictured here.
As part of the Fendi Baguette family, the Mamma Baguette shares the same rectangular shape with a flap closure and FF logo buckle but with a softer fluidity aligned with the brand’s Spring-Summer 2025 collection. The soft suppleness of the new Mamma Baguette is further emphasised by a tactile drawstring closure and a leather inlay on the signature FF logo buckle.
LOEWE Featherlight Puzzle

It’s hard to believe the Loewe Puzzle bag was launched ten years ago with its continued relevance and popularity in spite of the fast moving trends over the decade. The Puzzle was the first bag Jonathan Anderson designed for Loewe, inspired by the art of paper folding, a technical ‘puzzle’ of deconstructing and reconstructing a cuboid bag.
On its 10th anniversary, Loewe introduces the Featherlight Puzzle bag, with its characteristic geometric lines and cuboid shape but crafted in an innovative featherlight nappa lambskin. This makes it the lightest and softest version of the Puzzle bag. Pliable yet precise in construction, the new design features slimmer hardware, a leather luggage tag with secret pocket, removable Balloon dice, and protective metal feet. Available in five colours, we’re drawn to the Burnt Red version pictured here, a style statement akin to a bold red lip.
DIOR D-Journey Bag

Taking a different path from the familiar structured bags of Dior, is the new D-Journey bag. Crafted in black crinkled calfskin with Flat Macrocannage topstitching, the D-Journey bag is Dior’s take on the hobo, designed to hug the body comfortably when carried as a crossbody.
As functional as it is stylish, the main compartment is roomy, containing a zip pocket for storing smaller items, while two decorative side pockets feature a large leather pull with the Christian Dior Paris signature. The leather top handles are adjustable for more versatility. Together with the leather strap, the medium D-Journey bag in black, pictured here, can be carried by hand, worn over the shoulder or across the body.
