Onitsuka Tiger for the Modern Princess

by Pressroom

The Cinderella story gets contemporary.

Cinderella’s tale of finding true love and freedom from her ill fate is a well-known narrative that’s been told and retold. This classic tale undergoes a modern twist this year with Amazon Prime Video’s new take that includes a swap in the choice of footwear for the protagonist whose dreams are not limited to the romantic realm.

The new Cinderella is a young woman with strong ambition that cannot be contained by her fate. She works hard to achieve her dreams and liberate herself from what’s holding her back.

To coincide with the new movie and its themes, the iconic glass slipper is traded for trendy holographic sneakers in a collaboration with sports-inspired fashion brand Onitsuka Tiger. The limited-edition design comes in the model P-TRAINER PRZM™ from the Onitsuka Tiger Contemporary Collection. The sporty silhouette with its signature elevated sole, is dressed in glossy, prismatic colours for its upper that’s reminiscent of the glass slipper. It also features the iconic tiara from the movie on its heel top and on a special box designed for the shoes. Fans of the movie can also find the movie title on the shoe tongue label and insole along with the Onitsuka Tiger logo.

Versatile enough to complement a casual get-up or a dressy style, the fashion forward design is created for anyone who wants to be in Cinderella’s shoes (literally), regardless of gender and age. There are only 800 pairs available globally from this September, retailing at $299. Shoppers in Singapore can check them out at the Onitsuka Tiger boutique at Ngee Ann City and official E-commerce site.
