Valentino Eyewear: Fresh Eyes

by Pressroom

Valentino’s new capsule collection of luxury eyewear harks back to its heritage – with a modern twist.

The first fruits of Valentino’s partnership with Switzerland-based Akoni Group was launched in July this year – a brand new capsule collection for Valentino Eyewear, featuring three distinct styles. Each of the models is named after the numbers of the historical Valentino headquarters, a homage to the Maison: Paris Place Vendome (VIII), Milan Turati (XVI), and finally Rome Mignanelli (XXII) where the heart of creativity with Pierpaolo Piccioli is.

The first launch features three sunglass styles in ten colorways – a feminine titanium and acetate cat-eye shape with iconic Valentino 3D rockstuds; an oversized ’80s inspired titanium aviator shape with multi-colour gradient lenses; and finally, a modern interpretation of the retro ’60s Wellington shape made iconic by Golden Era Italian cinema in solid black, brown tortoise and mid-honey tortoise.

Exclusively designed and produced in Japan, the luxury collection goes heavy on the Maison’s signature codes, from the iconic stud and V-Logo Signature, to a distinct haute couture colour palette. A second launch offering six additional styles is planned for October 2022.
