Romantic elegance redefined.
With every movement, the refined shimmer of the golden curves sets off the dazzling sparkle of the most brilliant gems. This showstopper is Van Cleef & Arpels’ Diamonds Pavé Ring, the latest addition to the Maison’s jubilant Perlée collection.
Handcrafted golden gadroons embrace the ever so slightly vaulted dome of splendid diamonds, staggered to enhance the gleam of these precious stones. Reminiscent of the lines of a coquille and the form of a classic signet, the bold curves of the Perlée Diamonds Pavé Ring pay tribute to the French jewellery house’s heritage piece – the Tartelette Ring.
The oval gadrooned ring was first created by the Maison in 1948 and patented a year after, inspiring many gadroon-embellished creations in the likes of accessories such as rings, earrings and watches, from the 1950s to ‘70s. Like every piece created by Van Cleef & Arpels, it is true to its heritage of excellent craftsmanship, with its gadrooned motifs echoing metalworking techniques that date back centuries.
The new Perlée Diamonds Pavé Ring continues this handcrafted tradition. Each golden gadroon is reworked by hand to give them a vaulted shape of specific proportions, then polished to enhance their shine. Each ring features 37 stones of varying diameters, weighing a total of 2.28 carats and arranged to emphasize the effect of volume. These diamonds are selected only if they meet the stringent criteria of D to F for colour and IF to VVS for clarity. In the purest fine jewellery tradition, the diamonds then achieve maximum sparkle with an openwork gold structure that allows light to pass through. To balance the aesthetics with comfort, the inner surface of each ring is methodically polished.
A remarkable addition to an already impressive collection, the Perlée Diamonds Pavé Ring will speak volumes on the finger and bedazzle. Available in yellow gold, rose gold and white gold, online and at your nearest Van Cleef & Arpels boutique.
