YSL Beauty Club

by Susanah Cheok

How would you like to enjoy the exclusive opportunities of a club with no rules, save the one decree that every member embrace the freedom to be provocative and enjoy the best of beauty?

Introducing… The YSL Beauty Club

Finally, after it made its grand whirlwind tour through Paris, then London, and thereafter Tokyo, Shanghai and Hong Kong, the much-anticipated YSL Beauty Club blew into Singapore and hit the ground running on 3 November 2017.

While fans in Singapore waited with bated breath, the lucky peeps in Paris had, in the last few months, partied with YSL Beauty’s global makeup ambassadors Staz Lindes and Zoe Kravitz, as well as musician Travis Scott and uber model Anja Rubik, at the YSL Beauty Club’s Paris-leg reveal held at the Tuileries Garden.

Not to be outdone, Tokyo’s YSL Beauty Club launch was hosted in a bowling alley that was converted into a sensational room of scarlet, imbibed with rock and roll, while Shanghai’s club soiree took to the high seas on a party cruise ship that, with the all-night dancing, matched its motion with the ocean.

But then the finest things were worth waiting for, as this global beauty phenomenon trail-blazed into Singapore and presented a progressive, cutting-edge way to celebrate the grand reveal of the much awaited YSL Beauty Club in the little red dot.

Talk about anti-establishment, the private by-invitation-only party for YSL Beauty Club’s Singapore debut was held at – of all things – a former police station, at 30 Maxwell Road.

The party session saw an assembly of beautiful, stylish, like-minded thought leaders come together to attest to the brand’s bold, revolutionary principles.

Open House

True to being a brand of contradictions, with exclusivity often the order of the day, YSL Beauty also advocates inclusiveness.

Their Beauty Club mandated a YSL Beauty Club open house for the public on 4 November, 2017, when the austere former Maxwell Police Station was re-transformed from dance club to interactive beauty playground.

The one-day-only pop-up beauty session brought to the public cool and transformative interactions such as a Lipstick ATM, a plethora of Instagram-worthy, influencer-inspired beauty iterations, and essential activities that allowed visitors to immerse themselves in the YSL Beauty world, so as to discover its inimitable iconics – the Vernis a Levres playlist of lip colours, the wondrous alchemy of 25 brilliant years of Touche Eclat’s magic light, and the irresistibly seductive dark addiction of Black Opium fragrances.

The YSL Beauty Club open house was open to public from 10am to 6pm, at 30 Maxwell Road, from 10am to 6pm.

50 Curatedition readers pre-registered and scored an invitation to join Curatedition and Jeanette at the YSL Beauty Club open house between 12pm to 2pm.
