Christian Louboutin Beauty: Red-Hot Arrival in Singapore

by Pressroom

It’s here to paint the town red.

The iconic red-lacquered sole of the stiletto heel – a symbol of the strong, modern and self-confident woman. Christian Louboutin created it all on a whim. Finding his prototype Pensées shoe lacking, he applied red nail polish to the soles of the shoe and Voilà (!), the rest is history. That was in 1992.

20 years on, in 2012, Christian Louboutin Beauty was launched in key cities around the world. Now, in 2019, we are set to finally welcome the bold and empowering lips, eyes and nail colour collections to Singapore.

“All a woman needs is a pair of Louboutin and red lips”

Christian Louboutin

The catalyst for CLB was this deep connection to the colour red. Not only is red an important colour for the beauty house, red has always been associated with passion. You can look at it as more than a colour, it is an attitude. It represents the vision of the brand, inspired by empowerment, inclusiveness, creativity, and playfulness.

With colour impacting our emotions, it holds true for believers, that “when in doubt, wear red”.

Christian Louboutin said, “I create things that allow people to tap into what’s already there.” From bold red lips to dramatic nails and striking eyes, Christian Louboutin Beauty looks enable women to experiment with different aspects of themselves. Feeling bold? Work the complex tri-colored winged eyeshadow look. Going neutral? A nude nail polish shade that compliments your skin tone does it.

In keeping with Christian Louboutin’s vision of beauty as objet d’art (meaning an object with artistic value in French), the products are enclosed in intricate cases. Inspired by the Middle Eastern antiquities and the Art Deco movement, the solid metal body of Rouge Louboutin Velvet Matte lip colour, for example, is reminiscent of a precious vial. The turret-like crown cap is topped with a small ring threaded with a silk ribbon, turning the lip colour into a necklace.

Christian Louboutin transforms the everyday lipstick into a woman’s magic talisman. A beautiful objet d’art worthy of display, yet so intimate as to be worn like a precious jewel. Its luxurious colour, sensuous feel and superior wear provide for every woman’s own unique expression.

The nuances also enable females to explore various facets of her character, altering her favourite Velvet Matte red on any given day to fit her ambition, mood, or even her choice of clothing.

Christian Louboutin Silky Satin Lip Colour, Velvet Matte Lip Colour and Sheer Voile Lip Colour (SGD142 each) are available in 20 shades, 18 shades, and 9 shades respectively. Each line also features Christian Louboutin Beauty’s signature red, Rouge Louboutin.

In the meantime, the nail colour of Rouge Louboutin features a spectacular 8-inch height, inspired by Christian Louboutin’s highest heel ever produced – the Ultima Ballerina. The iconic nail colour is enclosed with a distinctive ombré impact in a faced, weighted glass bottle. Its glass-faced bottle features a tall, calligraphy-inspired slender cap that making it a luxurious experience.

After a transformative stroke of the red nail polish, Christian Louboutin’s iconic red sole was born and this next product is a nod to what started it all. The Christian Louboutin Nail Colour (SGD80) collection consists of 29 bold, metallic and nude shades.

Tape à l’Oeil Eye Color (SGD80) is inspired by and named after women who turn heads, designed to stun. “Tape à l’Oeil” means eye-catching and comes in 6 metallic and 6 matte shades. And with the gold packaging and pointy cap, it is of similar aesthetics to the collection.
