Valentino launches The Party Collection to celebrate the world’s return to sociability IRL.
The post-pandemic world according to Valentino are beams of joy, colours and shine, as the Italian fashion house seeks to remind us all of the little moments of togetherness we have missed these few years. The Party Collection is dedicated to seeing and being seen and all the celebratory moments in between – making sure you never get missed with its homage to all things shiny, from mirror-finish napa sneakers to low-sheen lurex embossed sweatshirts.
The feel is distinctly urban athleisure, with metallic high-shine tracksuits and sweatshirts for the men; and cropped hoodies and psychedelic shorts and chiffon dresses for the women, with a touch of ’70s disco. Textures are given unexpected treatment with silver heavy lace and tweed dresses, as well as wet-look quilted down jackets. The classic Valentino Roman stud is never far from the collection, adorning quilted leather bags, pointy-toed pumps and even a single one adorning the sneaker range.
Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli continues in his re-signification of the Maison’s codes, with the starting point still the connection between seemingly disparate elements that actually co-exist in perfect harmony, namely Couture and Prêt-à-porter.
